The bike it came off of lost its top end, but has some really nice parts. As for the transmission it is in really good condition very little ware. Looks great.

If I am aware of a defect such as a leaking seal, I will note it in the add. Just because the nice person you bought your bike from said it was a 2001, doesn't mean that it is.
